Visit DC Streetcar at the 2014 H Street Festival

THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT CAME OUT TO OUR THREE STREETCAR BOOTHS. THE EVENT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

Festival Goers Can Board and Tour Streetcars

(Washington, D.C.) – On Saturday, September 20th, DC Streetcar will once again join the H Street Festival with a huge presence on the corridor. This year, its “booths” are de-energized streetcars, which will provide boarding for the first time along the H Street corridor.

Festival attendees will be able to board and tour the streetcar “booths” from 12 noon to 5 p.m. while picking up DC Streetcar freebies on the way. Giveaways are limited, so festival-goers are urged to come early. In addition to giveaways, each stop will inform attendees about key safety information and the latest news regarding the streetcar.

The stops are:

  • 5th & H Street – How To Ride: Curious about riding the streetcar when service starts? Come to this stop to meet Streetcar staff who can share information about boarding, our operators, wheelchair access and much more.
  • 8th & H Street – Kids Zone: Face painting, carnival cut-outs for photos, and popcorn will be available at this stop. DC Streetcar staff will have family-friendly giveaway items and feature streetcar safety information for kids. This stop is ADA-accessible.
  • 13th & H Street – Streetcar Safety: Following the Look, Listen, Be Safe! theme, visitors are invited to view safety posters and materials and talk with DC Streetcar staff about the safe way to drive, bike, and walk around the corridor when streetcars are operating.

Festival goers who complete punch cards to show they’ve visited every stop will be entered to win an additional DC Streetcar-themed prize.
