DDOT Temporarily Suspends DC Streetcar Service for H Street Festival Saturday, October 13

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) today announced a temporary suspension of DC Streetcar service on Saturday, October 13 for the H Street Festival.

Streetcar service will operate Friday, October 12 from 6:00 am until 2:00 am October 13. Service will resume on Sunday, October 14 at 8:00 am.

In addition, the following streets will be closed and posted as Emergency No Parking for the event from 4:00 am to 11:00 pm on Saturday, October 13:

  • H Street, NE from 3rd Street, NE to 14th Street, NE
  • 4th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 5th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 6th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 7th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 8th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 9th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 10th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 11th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 12th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)
  • 13th Street, NE from G Street, NE to I Street, NE (local traffic only)

DDOT urges those taking part in the festival or traveling around the H Street corridor to be aware of heavy pedestrian traffic and to anticipate road closures and parking restrictions.

DDOT traffic control officers and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) will be on site managing pedestrian traffic and road closures. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
